Common payment errors with Braintree.

Our current payment provider for credit card transfers is Braintree Payments. After your license is upgraded, you may encounter some errors, which we have summarized in the table below.

Common Braintree Payment Errors and How to Resolve them


Error CodeDescription
2000(Do Not Honor) The customer's bank is unwilling to accept the transaction. The customer should contact their bank for more details.
2001(Insufficient Funds) The account does not have enough funds to cover the transaction. Ensure sufficient funds are available or use a different payment method.
2004(Expired Card) The card has expired. Update the card details or use a different payment method.
2005(Invalid Credit Card Number) The credit card number entered is invalid or contains a typo. Verify and correct the payment details before retrying.
2010(Card Issuer Declined CVV) The CVV (security code) entered is incorrect. Double-check the CVV and reattempt the transaction.
2046(Declined) The transaction was declined by the bank. Retry later or contact the issuing bank for clarification.
3000(Processor Network Unavailable) A network issue prevented the transaction from being processed. Retry the transaction. If the issue persists, contact Braintree support.
