How to Restore a Previous Version of the Template?

If you need to go back to a previous version of a template, you can easily restore it from the version history. Every time you save a template, a new version is automatically created, allowing you to restore any earlier version without affecting your current production template.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Go to the Templates tab and find the template you want to restore.
  2. On the right side of the template, click the three-dot menu (⋮) and select Versions from the menu.

Accessing Template Versions

  1. Find the version you want to restore, click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to it, and choose Restore as new.

Restoring a Template Version

This action will create a new template based on the version you selected. The current production version stays intact, so you can make changes to the restored version without disrupting your live documents.

Managing Template Versions

The latest version you save will always be marked as production, which is the version that gets used when opening the editor or generating a document via the API.

In addition to restoring previous versions, you can also export or delete versions from the version history. Exporting allows you to back up previous versions, while deleting versions helps keep your template library clean and organized.

The exported template version can also be uploaded into another workspace by opening the editor and going to File --> Import.
