# Release Notes 21.09 - 25.09.2026

This release covers everything we shipped between 21 and 25 September 2026. The big one is Create document, a guided way to produce a document from a template without touching the API or the editor. Alongside it we added per side border controls for text components, made the two signature settings independent of each other, and fixed a signup failure and a broken invoice download.

## New
### Create documents straight from the portal
You can now generate a document from the portal without writing a single API call or opening the editor. A Create document button in Document Storage opens a short guided flow: pick an existing template, bring your data, check the preview, then create.
Data can be a JSON, CSV or Excel file, or pasted straight from your clipboard, and you review it in the editor before going further. An array of objects is treated as a batch, one document per row, up to 25 rows at a time. The preview is watermarked, is not stored, and costs you no credits, so you can check the layout before committing. When you confirm, you name the file, with placeholders supported, and we generate. Every document lands in Document Storage, and the result screen gives you a download link, a document viewer URL and a file URL for each one.
This is the first phase. Creating a new template or importing a PDF from inside the flow, typing data in by hand, and emailing the finished document are all still to come.

### Per side borders for text components
The generator has been able to render a border on individual sides of a text component for a while, but the editor gave you no way to ask for it. We added top, right, bottom and left toggles to the border menu in the toolbar, so you can now switch each side on or off while you design.

## Improved
* **The two signature settings now work independently.** Enable Drawn Signatures and Enable Simple Electronic Signatures used to depend on each other, and turning the certificate seal off forced the drawn mark back on. Each toggle is now saved on its own, and we store and return exactly what you set. Turning both off is accepted, so a document can be confirmed with neither a drawn mark nor a certificate seal when that is how you want it. The only remaining condition is plan availability: the Simple Electronic Signature toggle stays disabled without the plan feature, while drawn signatures are configurable on every plan.
* **We protect templates when you remove a user.** Removing someone from your organisation while they still own templates left those templates without an owner. We now block the removal and tell you why, so you can move the templates first.
* **The editor tab tells you which template you are on.** Every editor tab used to read "Template Editor", which was no help with several open at once. The tab now carries the template name, and we added a favicon.
