# Release Notes 28.09 - 02.10 2026

This release covers everything we shipped between 28 September and 2 October 2026. The headline is a big one for anyone generating long documents: we cut generation time on large multi-page templates by roughly half or more. We also opened the template editor so it can be tried without an account, and fixed a few things in conversions, template saving and API rate limit headers.

### Try the template editor without signing in
We opened the editor so you can load it and work in it without logging in first. You can open a public template, change it, and see how the editor behaves before you create an account. When you are ready to save or download what you built, we ask you to sign up, and your work carries through the signup rather than being thrown away. This makes it much easier to show the editor to a colleague or embed a live demo of it in a page.

## Improved
- **Much faster generation on large documents.** We made two changes to the generator. We now share a single expression engine across the components of a document instead of building a new one for every component, and we cache the result of our HTML validity check instead of recomputing it for the same content several times per element. Across our performance test set the two together cut generation time by roughly half on most documents, and by considerably more on the largest ones. Memory use dropped sharply on long documents as well. Your output does not change: we verified identical content, page counts and file sizes on every document in the test set.
- **Audit logging when a user is removed from an organization.** We now record an audit log entry when a user is removed from an organization, so the removal shows up alongside the rest of your audit trail.

## Fixed

### Generation and conversions
Files produced through HTML to PDF and URL to PDF conversion came back with the extension twice, so a document ended up named something like `invoice.pdf.pdf`. We were adding the extension in two places. We now add it once, and the returned name matches what you asked for.

### Template editor
Saving a template with a very long name failed outright, and the editor reported an error instead of saving. We corrected how long names are handled, and saves with long names now go through.

### API
The rate limit headers on API responses reported the per-second limit rather than the per-minute limit. That made the numbers look far lower than your actual allowance. The headers now report the per-minute limit, which is the one you want to pace against. The per-second limit still applies as a secondary gate, so a single second cannot consume the whole minute.
