Import Your Existing PDFs as Templates

One of our most requested features is now a reality. We are thrilled to announce that you can now import your existing PDF documents to use as templates directly within the PDF Generator API editor!

This has been a long-awaited feature, and we believe it’s a game-changer for how you work with your documents. Gone are the days of needing to rebuild your existing forms or layouts from scratch. Now, you can bring your official documents—like government forms, legal agreements, complex industry-specific layouts, or branded letterheads—into our powerful ecosystem with a single click.

How It Works

Upload Your PDF: In the Customer Portal you will see a new option to upload your PDF file. Your PDF becomes the static, pixel-perfect background of your template.

Add Your Components: Drag and drop any of our standard components (dynamic text, images, barcodes, etc.) on top of your PDF. Position them exactly where you need data to appear.

While the underlying PDF content isn't editable itself, you now have the full power of our component library to overlay dynamic data and add interactive elements.

Unlock Powerful New Workflows

This feature opens up a world of possibilities. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

• Make Any PDF Fillable: Have a non-editable application or government form? Import it, drag our components over the blank lines, and instantly create a web-fillable form or an API-driven document.
• Add Dynamic Data to Static Documents: Import your pre-designed certificate, report cover, or company letterhead. Place dynamic text components for {customer::name} or {invoice::date} to personalize your existing, professionally designed documents via API.
• Extend Existing Agreements: Need to add a signature block, an approval stamp, or a new information section to a standard legal document? Simply import it and place the new elements exactly where they need to go.

Internal updates

Release 2.214.0 introduces internal updates, refactoring, and code improvements that are not directly visible to end-users.
