Release Notes 24.08 - 28.08.2026

This release covers everything we shipped between 24 August and 28 August 2026. The headline is the AI template builder: a document you upload now comes back as a faithful, editable template instead of drifting off after a few pages, and scanned documents can be replicated for the first time. Alongside that we gave the editor another round of interface work, added a way to turn template fields into web form fields, and made the drawn signature step optional for document review and signing.

Uploaded documents now replicate properly

The AI template builder can rebuild a document you upload as a template. Until now it worked through the document one page at a time and placed every component individually, which was fine on short documents and fell apart on long ones: pages went missing, content was invented, and a single build took a long time.
We replaced that with one deterministic pass. We measure the whole document first, then build the template from those measurements. Text, ruled tables, images and their stacking order all come from what we actually measured. You still watch the template appear page by page in the editor, and you can still keep talking to the builder afterwards to bind your data. Automatic data binding, borderless tables and rotated text are not part of this and remain on our list.

Scanned documents can be replicated

A scanned PDF holds no text, only a picture of text, so replication used to give you a template that looked right and could not be edited. We now read the text off scanned pages before we measure them, so the words come back as real components you can edit and bind to your data, with the page image kept behind them so the layout still looks correct.
Text read off a scan is a reading rather than a measurement. It carries no font, weight or colour, and it can be wrong, so we tell you when a replica was built this way and you should check it before you rely on it. This works for English and Estonian documents today.

An organisation setting to skip the drawn signature

Document review and signing used to put every reviewer through the same drawn signature step: a modal opens, you create a signature, you drag it onto the document and confirm the placement. When the document is signed digitally anyway, and especially when many people need to acknowledge the same document, that step is friction rather than assurance. On a phone it is worse.
There is now an "Enable Drawn Signatures" toggle in a new "Document Signing and Review" section of Document Settings. It applies to your whole organisation, it is on by default so nothing changes unless you change it, and only roles with the "Manage storage" permission can edit it. Turn it off and reviewers acknowledge in one confirmation, with the signature applied automatically and no drawing step on either desktop or mobile. The audit trail still records who signed and when, and the setting takes effect immediately on existing documents as well as new ones.

Build a web form from a template

Web forms now have an action that takes the fields from a selected template and creates the matching web form fields for you, rather than making you add each one by hand. The action appears once you have selected a template.

We replaced the editor icons with the ones from our design system, added a Layers tab to the left side menu that shows the component list with hide and show controls and a context menu, grouped components in the sidebar, brought the form inputs in the properties and advanced panels in line with the updated design, consolidated the border settings into one menu, and simplified the page navigation pill by taking the zoom control out of it.
