Release Notes 27.07 - 07.08.2026

This release cycle covers 17 component updates shipped across five release days between 27 July and 7 August 2026. The headline update is the production launch of the AI Document Builder, alongside improvements to AI credit metering, editor watermark readability, and scheduled background services.

New

AI document builder is now in production

You can now build a template by describing what you need in plain language, directly in the template editor. Open the Chat tab, tell it what you are after (an invoice, a delivery note, a statement) and it assembles a working, data-driven template for you. From there you keep refining it in conversation instead of placing and aligning every component by hand.

A few things worth knowing:

• Availability is per plan. We have enabled the AI builder on selected plans rather than across all accounts. If you do not see the Chat tab in the editor and you would like access, get in touch.
• Usage consumes AI credits. The editor shows your remaining credits as you work and warns you as you get close to your limit.
• We keep chat history for 90 days and then remove it automatically.

On-demand billing for accounts that pay by invoice

We no longer restrict on-demand usage limits to card-based subscriptions. If your account has a valid payment method, manual invoicing included, you can now turn on on-demand billing and keep generating past your plan quota instead of being blocked when you reach it.

Improved

• We now price AI credit usage on what a request actually costs us to serve. Credits used to come from raw token counts. They now come from real model cost, including the reduced cost of conversation history we re-send on each step. Your consumption is accurate and stays stable no matter which model is serving the request.
• We toned down the editor preview watermark. Several of you told us the new PREVIEW watermark made preview exports hard to use when sharing them with colleagues and stakeholders for sign-off. We reworked it so the layout, alignment and formatting of your document stay clearly readable.
• We rebuilt the Customer Portal onboarding flow, and refreshed the dashboard and template pages. New accounts get a shorter set of setup questions and land on a dashboard built around what you are trying to do first.

Fixed

Template editor

• Templates could silently fail to save during a long editing session. Every save reported success, but when you reopened the template only the last change was there. We fixed the underlying cause, so saves persist reliably, and an expiring session now surfaces properly instead of failing quietly.
• Opening a template in the editor could fail with a workspace access error. Templates open as expected again.
• The data field dropdown for Table components stopped offering the full list of available fields. All of your data fields are listed again.
• Uploading sample data that contained percent-encoded characters, for example presigned URLs with %22 or %2F, reported success but quietly replaced your data set with an empty one. We now accept valid JSON as-is, and a genuine failure returns an error instead of a false confirmation.

API

• Importing a PDF as a template through the API rejected the template.name field even though our docs said it was supported. Custom template names now work the way the docs describe.
